Club Honours
Since our founding in 1960, Grange Fermoy AC has produced athletes and teams who have competed — and won — at the very highest levels, from county to international stage.
Team Achievements
- 🏆 1965: Historic clean sweep of all County Cross Country titles — novice, junior, intermediate, senior, and youths (a feat never repeated).
- 🏆 1974: Women’s teams won County, Munster, and National championships at both underage and senior levels.
- 🏆 Multiple County, Munster, and National team titles in juvenile, senior, and masters competitions.
Individual Achievements
- 🌍 John Hartnett – World Junior Cross Country Champion (1970), Olympian (Munich 1972), Irish mile record holder.
- 🌍 Fanahan McSweeney – European record holder, Olympian (Munich 1972).
- 🌍 Mary Mellerick – Represented Ireland at senior international level.
- 🌍 Eddie Hartnett – Represented Ireland at junior international level.
- 🥇 Numerous national champions across track, field, road, and cross country.
Masters & Recent Successes
- 🏅 Club masters athletes have won Irish national titles in endurance events and field disciplines including shot put and high jump.
- 🏅 Strong presence in road racing across Munster and beyond, with regular podium finishes.
